Bide Your Time by Matt Simpkins
arranged by Toby Bull, Adrian Johnson, Matt Simpkins & Mark Turnbull

Standing at North Station, my pockets full of holes.
Coming down from dancing to Stax and northern soul.
I was running 5 hours late and was starting to despair
When a man walked up, introduced himself and said "let me help you there…

Why rush all your life?
You should be biding time.
She'll be your wife,
She'll stand by your side."

Leaning on the window whilst moving down that line
I couldn't help but wonder If I'd make it there in time.
Would she still be waiting, or would she now be gone?
I was going crazy while the train just crept along

"Why rush all your life?
You should be biding time.
She'll be your wife,
She'll stand by your side.
Son, try to slow down,
Lay back and bide your time,
Wait for a while…she'll be by your side…"

I need you to love me,
'Cause nothing means anything at all!
Darkness surrounds me,
Thank God you found me!
I'm coming down again…to bide my time
